Terms of Use

These terms cover the Laktic Pace Calculator app, its web version, and the pace engine behind them (together, "the app"), published by Laktic. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What the app is

The app turns a race result into suggested training paces and adjusts them for heat and humidity. The suggestions are training guidance based on the numbers you enter and the weather at the time. They are not medical advice, and they do not account for your health, injuries, fitness on the day, or conditions the weather service does not report. Use judgment, especially in extreme heat, and stop if you feel unwell. You are responsible for decisions you make with the app's output, including decisions you make for athletes you coach.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. Purchases require you to be 18 or older, or to have a parent or guardian make the purchase for you.

An account is optional. If you sign in with Google, Apple, or an email link, keep your login secure and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

You may use the app for your own training and for athletes you coach. You may not:

• Copy, scrape, extract, or republish the app's pace tables, zone multipliers, heat model, or other outputs in bulk, or use them to build a competing calculator, product, or service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the pace engine's source code or formulas, except where the law expressly permits it.
• Use automated tools to access the app or its services, or interfere with them.
• Remove or alter any Laktic or Track and Road Performance marks, notices, or attributions.
• Use the app in any way that breaks the law or the rights of others.

Ownership

The app, its design, the pace engine, the zone model, the heat adjustment model, and all content, courses, and training plans offered through it are owned by Laktic or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. "Laktic" and the Laktic mark are trademarks of Laktic. "Track and Road Performance" is the coaching methodology the pace engine is built on and is used with permission. Using the app gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use it as intended. It does not transfer any ownership to you.

Data you enter, such as athlete names and race times, stays yours. You give Laktic permission to store and process it only as needed to run the app for you.

Purchases

Some content may be offered for a price. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are handled by Apple or Google under their terms, including refunds. Purchases made on the web are handled by our payment provider; for a refund of a web purchase, contact support within 14 days of purchase. Prices and availability can change.

Subscriptions

If you buy a subscription, the price and billing period are shown before you purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or through your web account if you subscribed on the web; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the paid period. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own policies.

Changes and availability

We may change, pause, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time. We may update these terms; the current version is always at this address, and continued use after a change means you accept it.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Weather data comes from Open-Meteo and may be delayed or wrong. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laktic is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from use of the app or reliance on its output, and its total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, if anything.

Termination

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account from inside it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
